Ground calcium carbonate and stearic acid-coated calcium carbonate has various use in the PVC industry. They both are used in the production of PVC pipes, PVC chemicals and much more. Experience the quality difference with Mangal Microns! We’re your go-to manufacturer and supplier of high-quality stearic acid-coated calcium carbonate and ground calcium carbonate.

Ground Calcium Carbonate

PVC pipe formulations with GCC added to have better characteristics and are more affordable. Adding ground calcium carbonate can enhance PVC pipes’ impact resistance, thermal stability, and processing qualities. It might make the pipes more rigid and lighter. Coarser GCC particles can enhance PVC pipes’ processing qualities and surface polish, whereas finer GCC particles can enhance impact resistance.

GCC is added to PVC compositions to enhance qualities, including rigidity, impact resistance, and thermal distortion temperature. By lowering the viscosity and enhancing the flow characteristics, it can also enhance the processing features of PVC compounds.

In addition to its mechanical qualities, GCC serves as a thermal stabiliser and can improve PVC’s thermal stability. Since GCC has a large surface area, it can interact with hydrogen chloride, which is generated during the production of PVC, to lessen its corrosive effects on the polymer, enhancing the stability and longevity of the finished product.

Stearic Acid Coated Calcium Carbonate

Stearic acid-coated calcium carbonate is added to the PVC pipe formulation as a filler material to improve its mechanical properties. The stearic acid coating on the calcium carbonate particles aids in enhancing their dispersion in the PVC matrix, improving uniformity and the final product’s characteristics. Moreover, it reduces the manufacturing cost of the final product.

Stearic acid-coated calcium carbonate is also used to manufacture various PVC chemicals to boost their properties and performance. Plasticisers, stabilisers, and flame retardants are added to enhance the processing and end-use qualities of PVC formulations. However, the mechanical and thermal qualities of PVC products may suffer due to the use of these compounds. Calcium carbonate coated with stearic acid is used as a filler material for PVC chemical compositions to mitigate these detrimental effects. The calcium carbonate particles’ coating enhances their ability to disperse in the PVC matrix, enhancing the finished product’s uniformity and characteristics.
